Bucerias is north of Nuevo Vallarta, 20 minutes from the airport.
For an unpretentious village, Bucerias actually has a lot going on. People from miles around come here to shop, tour its artists' studios, and eat out. The town's top restaurants can hold their own with any in Vallarta.
Once a dormitory town for Puerto Vallarta's workers, Bucerias started attracting snowbirds fleeing Vallarta's noise and high prices. The newcomers have volunteered and played a role in civic affairs, making Bucerias a more expat-integrated community than most.
Today, Bucerias is a friendly, walkable, and sophisticated pueblito with a great vibe and some of the best beaches on the bay.
