Embassy to remain open, advises against non-essential travel

The CanadianEmbassy in Mexico has issued the following information related to travel toMexico and the H1N1 virus:
- The Canadian Embassy in Mexico City will be open for all urgent visa and passport needs;
- Canada's Foreign Minister is recommending that Canadians cancel all non-essential travel to Mexico until further notice;
- The Embassy is suggesting that all Canadian citizens currently in Mexico register with the Embassy, to facilitate the receipt of information and updates;
- People who wish further information can call 01-800-706-2900, from withing Mexico or 613-996-8885 internationally, or email sos@international.gc.ca.
