Some are saying that it is only about the economy and swine flu will have no impact.
Others say that this scare has damaged Mexico´s image abroad and people will think twice before buying here.

Hotels are closing and restaurants are empty in Puerto Vallarta, due to media coverage of the flu. There are ZERO cases here, nor are there any the entire surrounding states. Mexico is a huge country…the the media lumps all of Mexico in their news regarding the flu. Our resort town is now in jeopardy of bankruptcy, with 15,000 jobs at stake. It is beautiful here and we want to stay open and ready for our valued guests from all over the world. REPEAT..NO CASES OF H1N1 IN PUERTO VALLARTA!

Mexico has had 159 Swine flu related deaths and there are 2,500 that have been diagnosed, 1,300 of which are in the hospital.Economists estimate that it has slowed Mexico’s economy by 60% recently! All 35,000 restaurants in Mexico City have been ordered shut and the schools are already closed down.The fear that is spreading from Mexico, now to other parts of the world is growing at a rapid pace. After all, this is not just a Mexico epidemic. The Swine flu has already spread to the U.S., Canada, Germany, Israel, Spain, the U.K., New Zealand and Australia.

It really affects a lot. People who wish to buy a property in Mexico will change their minds because of the disease that hits the country. Anyway, talking about real estate, most of the time, I would probably put a bit of a stigma on manufactured homes, but there is, believe it or not, an actual high end of prefab homes.
