The Hotel Zone/Marina area is in northern Puerto Vallarta.

This is a very livable neighborhood, with lots of everyday conveniences: Wal-Mart, Costco, malls, and movie theaters. Plus, it's as central as it gets ... 10 minutes to downtown and the airport.

The area was conceived in the 1980s to allow Vallarta to grow sideways, releasing the pressure to overbuild in Old Town. While some buildings now show their age, there is a new crop of high-rises with cutting-edge architecture and outstanding views. Most have their own beaches and beach clubs. There is also golfing nearby as well as a large marina.

If you're looking for a condo, this area pretty much has it all.
