Future of Travel and Tourism in Mexico to 2016 Report Now Available

Following the US, Canada and Barbados, the Travel and Tourism Competitive Index (TTCI) ranked Mexico as the fourth-most attractive destination within the Americas region to develop travel and tourism business. - The revenues of Mexican travel intermediaries companies are expected to record a CAGR of 3.70% from 2011 to 2016, to reach a projected value of MXN26.3 billion (US$2.1 billion) in 2016. This growth is expected to be driven by an increase in domestic, outbound and inbound tourism due to Mexico’s overall economic growth, the increasing penetration of the country’s low-cost airlines, and a greater demand for package tours than free or independent travel.
