
Twenty years ago, an American who moved to Mexico was an adventurer, willing to give up the customs of home for life south of the border. Today, American and Canadian retirees, entrepreneurs and freelancers –as many as two million full- and part-time residents today, with the population expected to swell to ten million over the next two decades— are drawn by Mexico’s pleasant climate and rich culture, its lower cost of living, and the promise of a new way of life. Additionally, there are more than a million Mexicans and people of other nationalities who live in Mexico and use English as a first or second language.
